MacOS Mojave is the latest version of the operating system for Mac computers. It has brought a few changes on the system and app level. Here we discuss how it affects Apple Mail and answers commonly asked questions.
1. My Mail is not Working Correctly after the MacOS Mojave 10.14 update. How to fix it?
With the new updates may come few issues with the existing apps and software, even with the default ones, like Apple Mail. If your Apple Mail is not working after the latest update, you can try some of the basic troubleshooting:
- Delete the ‘Com.Apple.Mail.savedState’ folder. This is to get rid of any prior-state files on your Machine in case Mail couldn’t save the prior state correctly. You can find this by: Open ‘Finder’ → Library → Containers → apple.mail → Data → Library → Saved Application State.’ Try opening Mail now. If it still gives you trouble:
- Delete the Mail library contains (com.apple.mail and com.apple.MailServiceAgent) and the Envelope files (Envelope index, Envelope index-shm, Envelope Index-wal)
- If none of the above two methods fix the issue, try checking your ‘Mail’ and your Email account settings in the ‘Mail.’ In some cases, the settings can get unchanged itself. Check for any connection issues with your mail account (POP, IMAP, or any other).
- If none of these works, you can rebuild your profile and re-index the messages
2. How does emails appear in MacOS Mojave Dark Mode!
With this update, Apple has given two different themes that are applied system-wide: Dark and Light. The MacOS automatically adjusts the colors according to which theme you have set. Your messages in Mac Mail will be shown in the dark mode if they are simple text or rich text. But the HTML format emails are shown in the light mode automatically, while keeping the dark mode in the system as it is.
Adguard ad blocking and filtering for browsers 2 1 3. But the interesting thing is that Apple Mail only switches to light mode when HTML emails have images. If an HTML formatted email has no images, Mac Mail will show it in the dark mode, and will automatically adjust (inverse, adjusting hue, etc.) the colors of text for the best visibility.
Note that you can permanently switch to light mode only for Mac Mail app. You can do so by going to the Mail preferences → Viewing section → Uncheck “use dark mode for messages”. Hostbuddy 2 2 4 x 5. It’s great for users who prefer to view emails as they were intended to be viewed by the senders.
3. My Mac Mail Plugins are not Working. How to fix-it?
If you find that your plugins are not working, it’s because they are disabled automatically in this update.
Macos Mojave 10.14.2 Update
In MacOS Mojave 10.14 update, you need to manually allow your plugins in Mac Mail.
Click ‘Mail’ in the menu bar → Click ‘Preferences’ → Manage Plug-ins in the ‘General tab’ (shown at the bottom of the box) → Select the plugin (or plugins) and check the box next to it → Click on “Apply and Restart Mail.”
4. Is there any other changes in Mac Mail?
Mac Mail is barely different than the previous update. It has got all the same features and interface. Though there are three very minor new additions that you may or may not even use:
Macos 10.14 Mojave Full Download
- add emojis in your emails (the option is available in the upper right corner between the font options and photo insert buttons),
- There is’ a new feature about suggested folders in Mac Mai
- And there’s a new button for moving messages directly in the nav bar.
